Gold in Korea!

Junior Culinary Team Canada competed in the 35^th World Association of Chefs (WACS) Congress in Daejeon, Korea on Tuesday, May 1st in the Restaurant of Provinces category. Our Junior Team won Gold and placed 2nd overall.

A quote from Team Manager JC Felicella

"It seems tough to swallow the fact that we were less than half a point away from top spot, but think about it, we went in playing with the big boys, (the seniors) and still received a gold (second place) for our efforts. This competition is paramount to our success in Germany, with all of you now receiving international experience there should be no surprises. 

There is now talk that we are one of the teams to beat in Germany at the junior level and we should feel very good about that. It is not only our skill that was admired but our extreme discipline and attitude that was recognized by all who saw us."

Congratulations to Team Coach, Tobias MacDonald, who competed in the 35th WACS Global Chefs Challenge.  Tobias won Gold and placed 3rd overall.  The Junior Team is fortunate to have Tobias as team coach, his knowledge and talent was displayed in the competition.
